THRIVE Demo Day Recap

Updated: Apr 5, 2021

Our Demonstration Day Virtual Event was last week, celebrating the work of the ten nonprofit participants in our THRIVE Accelerator for Social Good, co-hosted by our partners at The Spark Mill.

We had almost 100 virtual attendees online to hear the pitches of these ten nonprofits. Our emcee Micah "Bam-Bamm" White lent his humor and commentary, and our event logistics partner eventfull ensured everything ran smoothly. We enjoyed being "on set" in our makeshift studio with full on lights and camera setups at the Collaboratory, while our nonprofits all presented from their own spaces.

Nonprofits Featured:

  • Downtown Ashland Association

  • East End Renaissance Council

  • Greater Richmond Bar Foundation

  • KLM Scholarship Foundation

  • NextUp RVA

  • Reading Without Borders

  • Second Chance At Renewing Self, Inc

  • Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond

  • St. Andrew's School

  • St. James's Children's Center

Attendees voted on the People's Choice Award for the presentation that most spoke to them and the winner was Reading Without Borders! They were awarded a newly-increased prize, thanks to a donation from The Spark Mill, of $1000.

And our cofounders, Adrienne Wright and Andrew Pegalis, made a surprise announcement that thanks to our generous sponsors, each of the ten nonprofits would each receive $1000!
